NOCK warns Kenyans against buying counterfeit Team Kenya merchandise
Warning comes amid rising commercial interest in Olympic-themed merchandise ahead of upcoming international competitions, with concerns that counterfeiters may exploit the demand for national team gear.
Kenyans have been warned against purchasing merchandise bearing the Team Kenya logo from unauthorised sellers, as the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) raises concerns over a surge in counterfeit products.
In a notice, NOCK stated that the Team Kenya logo is a protected trademark owned exclusively by the committee, and that any production, distribution, or sale of the logo outside authorised channels constitutes infringement.

“The TEAM KENYA logo is a protected mark owned exclusively by the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK). No individual, shop or company is authorised to produce, distribute, or sell merchandise bearing this logo other than NOCK,” reads the notice.
The committee urged the public to avoid buying items marketed as Team Kenya products unless they come from officially sanctioned sources. Officials warned that unregulated merchandise exposes consumers and athletes to low-quality items that misrepresent the national brand.
“We advise the public not to purchase any items from unauthorised sellers claiming to offer Team Kenya products unless officially authorised by NOCK,” the committee said.
NOCK also appealed to athletes, sports officials and supporters to help curb the circulation of counterfeit goods by reporting suspicious sellers or products.
“To our athletes, the wider sports community, and supporters: You play a critical role in safeguarding our brand. By alerting us to any suspected counterfeit merchandise, you help protect both Team Kenya and yourselves from fake or unregulated products,” it added.
The committee emphasised that all genuine Team Kenya merchandise will be publicised through official NOCK channels and distributed either directly by the committee or through formally announced partners.
“Official Team Kenya apparel and merchandise will always be communicated and supplied directly through NOCK or its formally announced partners,” reads the notice.
Kenyans have been urged to confirm the authenticity of any branded items before making purchases.
“Official Team Kenya merchandise is available only through the #TeamKenya Official Merch Shop. You can call on 0768 948 987, or physically collect at NOC-K offices in the Gallant Building. Always feel free to reach out to confirm the authenticity of any item before purchase,” NOCK said.
